2002 Pontiac Grand Am cruise contol doesn't work

2002 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl 115000 miles

I just purchased a 2002 a couple of days ago and found the cruise control doesn't work. the light comes on when i turn it on, but it doesn't activate when i push any other button. I am used to the one on the blinker nob, this one in on the bottem of the steering column. I replaced the fuse. still no cruise. Am i using it wrong or what?

you may have a brake switch problem. you may have to take it to a dealer and have them scan the vehicle to see if it is reading the brake switch ON.
