I been having a humming noise under car, replaced hub bearings both sides, still have it. Gets louder with higher speeds. I removed axle assembally, the part that slides into the transmission, sorry don't know the name of I noticed that the rod had alot of play where it goes into the couplin. Is this normal. Hope I explained myself fairly clear thanks!!

The side that slides into tranny is called "tripod" side, the other end in bearing is CV side.

It is normal for some play in tripod side.
