When I try to use my wipers they swing up but won't go back and forth or go down again. After I hear the motor stop I can push them down again but they still do not work properly.

Take the connector loose from wiper motor, 5 pin connector? Tyrn key to on, you don't have to start it. Use a testlite between terminals for the yellow wire and black wire, the testlite should come on, lite-up. If that checks out, use the testlite between the purple wire and black wire, black is ground or use a chassis ground, wiper switch on high, the lite should come on, my info says if all that checks out, replace wiper motor.
