Best thing to do is to buy a Haynes manual, it will outline the procedures and will pay for it self the first repair.
Generally you have to support or raise the engine to get the pan off, the pump is located inside and held with two bolts. You generally have to reuse the old oil pickup, some are pressed into the pump, some are tack welded. There is also a drive rod that drives the pump from the camshaft gear. You can access it from above, a plug (where the dist. Went on eariler models) and is held in place with a bolt.
When you replace the oil pump you remove the plug and insert the drive rod from above.
