A few days ago i went to start my car and it would not start but the engine would turn over. I got the car to start by pressing on the gas and i check under the hood and i saw something smoking and it was coming from the EGR Valve. Should the EGR Valve be smoking?

No its not suppose to be smoking-open it up and investigate its probably the reason you are having trouble starting it because its creating a huge vacuum leak. Might be needing replacement.
