I have a 2000 Grand am and my power steering pump froze up causing the pulley to break. Both parts are damaged not allowing the belt to run properly so I completely removed the pump and pulley (disconnected the hoses and electrical connecter) and re routed the belt to run without the pump and pulley in the car. My question is that I think I am spinning the water pump the opposite direction. I managed to get tension the way I routed the belt but the water pump is now spinning clockwise when I think it was spinning counter clockwise. Anyways, my car ran fine today but just afraid if I am messing up the water pump. The car did not over heat and ran normal. Does anyone know if the water pump works both ways????
