2000 Pontiac Grand Am GAS GAGE ON DASH NOT WORKING!

I filled up @ the gas station on saturday night ( 8/16 and the gas overflowed from underneath the vehicle, I guess it was way pass full. Since that night the gas gage on the dash board has not worked. Can you explain! Thanks

When the fuel is put in and it first clicks...your done.

Since it overflowed from underneath, it may have affected the electrical connection of the sending unit. May have to drop the tank to fix this one, but start simple and check the fuse.
