I have been having problems with my Grand Am since I ran it out of gas last week. It stumbles when accelerating or even at idle. I changed the fuel filter thinking it was clogged, but its not any better. I now think maybe the fuel pump is going bad. Do I have to drop the tank to get to it? Any sugg. on where to look for my problems? Also, I can hear the fuel pump working when I turn the key. I Really dont want to pull the tank if I dont have to!

You can hear the fuel pump come On for a few secs-But is it the correct fuel pressure? You need to check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge designed for your fuel system. Accessing it might want to look for an access door under the backseat or trunk-nothing there you know what that means.
