not sure if this is an engine or transmission problem (or neither?) when i am driving and accelerating slowly during traffic, between about 40-50 mph, the accelerator 'pumps', rpm's go up, and i have to take my foot off the accelerator and re-press harder and then it accelerates no problem. It does not ever feel like it will stall.

Local shop could not duplicate problem, so not sure what to tell them to look at.

Have shop scan PCM in live data mode and get sensor feedback, look for sensors out of range.
