1999 Pontiac Grand Am Seat Rising

On my 99 Grand am the driver seat has a button to raise and lower the seat. You can hear the motor running (under the seat) but it doesn't raise/lower.? how do i fix this problem?

Remove seat and inspect the gear mechanisim in seat. Some use plastic gears, which simply wear out.
