1999 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 153000 miles

Erratic fuel gauge. It goes from full, to empty, to 1/2 tank, to 1/4 tank and back to full. What is the problem?

Maybe a problem with the fuel level sensor.
