Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1999 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi I am trying to replace the drivers side driveline. I have it loose & out of the hube, I am having trouble pulling it out of the transmition. is there a clip? or should it pull right out? Thanks.

Hello,

The CV Axle is a pain to get out at times. It is held in with a spring clip you can see what I am talking about by looking at the replacement CV Axle.

There is a special tool for removing the axle or if you have a pry bar you can pry it out. What you have to do is find a good spot to brace the pry bar on the tranny and against the axle then push the axle in then with a quick snap pop the axle. It may take a few tries to get it to pop out....
