Engine Performance problem
1999 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 141k miles

Whenever I am pushing on the gas pedal to drive, it seems like the car isn't going as fast as it should for the amount of pressure on the gas pedal. Sometimes when it does this it may have a short burst of "energy" and pick up speed for a second. It also seems to be using alot of gas. Also my check Engine light is on and my LOW COOLANT light stays on even when the car is full of antifreeze. However it is leaking antifreeze somehow but there is no leaks under the car (no evidence of antifreeze on ground under car). Please Help!

First thing you need to do is have the codes read, Autozone does it free, Post the results with the code number(s). Even if the service engine light is not on, there should be freeze frame data stored.
If it won't make it to Autozone, buy a cheap scanner, they can be had for 30-40 dollars, a good investment, since they cover all cars sold in the USA from 96 on. Is there any white smoke from the exhaust? GM had problems with the intake manifolds developing an internal leak into the engine. That might be where your antifreeze is going, a pressure test on the radiator will let you know if the system holds pressure or is leaking!

About 1 year ago I did have a problem with the intake manifold leaking antifreeze into the engine. That problem was fixed. I did have a guy come look at it the other day, he didnt run any tests or anything he just started it and looked at the engine and the tail pipe and said oh you "have a cracked head". I dont know if that is accurate or not since he didnt test anything but I will go straight to autozone and get those numbers and then post them. So Thanks soooooo much for the help!
