So I can't figure out what this is, or how it happened, but I started hearing this noise yesterday when I would go over bumps,
this morning I looked at the hood of my car and saw a big dent coming from the inside.
so i took a look under the hood and there is this bolt coming out of...well, not quite sure what this really encases, but check out the photo...
haven't really been able to find any reference point for it, just curious as to what this is ?

that is your strut mount, looks like you have a broke strut..
