I have replaced the coils with spares I have had laying in my garage and it made no difference. Cylinder 1 had a new injector installed a couple months ago and I also put in a new crank position not long before that. I have new boots on the coils and new spark plugs.

I was told it could possibly be the magnets on the crank that the position sensor reads from. Ive heard they have an issue at high mileage of falling off. If thats the case I cant afford to fix the issue.

What else could cause this problem.

Crank sensor would affect all cylinders, not just two.

It really sounds like bad coil, plugs.

I would also perform a compression test to see if you have a headgasket problem, and inspect electrical connections to coils for frayed/burnt wires.
