1997 Pontiac Grand Am check engine light is on

My check engine light is on and when I had a diagnostic test done they told me that it was my fan regulator but when I went to were they sent me they had no idea

What was the actual code? If there is a problem with the radiator fan, the fan could be faulty, there could be a problem with the relay, there might be a problem with the coolant temp sensor. The computer uses input from the cts to know when to turn the fan on and off. I can only suggest what to check.
