My car recently failed inspection and they told me it was the TCC solenoid. It's been about 2 weeks and my car has stopped moving. The only things I noticed was the car would sometimes take a few extra seconds to go in gear getting on the highway and once when I went to put it in reverse and once when I put it in drive it took a few extra seconds to go in gear. Today I was on the highway and I noticed the car was slowing down and pulled over. The car runs, but will not move in any of the gears. Does this sound like the TCC solenoid and if so is the labor exspensive. Being a woman I don't want to be taken to the cleaners.

The TCC (torque convertor clutch solenoid) locks up the torque convertor under certain conditions, and disengages when below a certain speed or when brakes are applied.

The symptoms you describe are not that of a TCC problem (car would stall when coming to a stop, or engine would turn more rpms at speed).

Have a transmission shop look at car, but the fact that it has no foward, or reverse drive is not a good sign.
