1995 Pontiac Grand Am Why is my car being stupid?

1995 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Okay I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am. Recently I was driving it and it will only go to 35-40mph and shakes when I start it. Also my low coolant light came on but we filled the coolant and its still on. The car never acted like this before and even when I go up hills it declines in speed and if I push the gas it just revs but does not effect the speed. What is wrong with my car me and my friend thought it was the catalytic Converter but we were just wondering if we might be wrong!

IF your coolant is full and your are not losing any, it is probably just a bad level sensor.

Sounds like the transmission is slipping by the description, is the fluid clean and full? The shaking only happens when it is started, not while your moving?

Yeah everything is clean and full but the shaking does happen when im going down the road.
