1995 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

when i start the car it idles at 12 to 1500rpm and never idles down have installed a map and an idlepart forgot what its called

hello,

is there any check engine light on, could be a coolant temperature sensor or a throttle postion sensor, also when you replaced the idle air control valve did you clean the carbon build up from the passage way in the throttle body? Other than a high idle does the car run well?
