When replacing the water outlet does it require silicone sealant or is the rubber o-ring sufficent to keep it from leaking?

Rubber or PermaDry gaskets do not require RTV.
But replace the O'ring.
There are occassions where the outlet assy. May be gouged or warped, in which case RTV would seal it.
