1993 Pontiac Grand Am The Car Keeps Stalling and the dista

I have a 1993 pontiac grand am. And the problem that I have been having w/ it is keeps stalling. At first it would stall on long distance trips and then start right back up. And now it stalls on short trips even to the store and then the waiting period for it to start back up was longer. And so now I don't drive anywhere at all. And the opinions from different mechanics is different answers? Is it the catalytic converter, I I don't know. But some kind of answer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
