Hello I was driving the other day when I was turning and suddenly I heard a pop and all of a sudden my power steering went out. I pulled back in ym driveway and seen the power steering fluid was out and draining through the rack on the passenger side. There is a possibly metal type plug on the end where it is leaking and I knocked it back in but it is still leaking. I went to about 4 part stores and searched online and they all told me there is no plug for the end. Does anyone know what I can do? Is there a certain plug I can use. Or possibly weld it shut? Please help.
Thanks

Hi there,

there is no safe short cut when it comes to steering repairs. The rack will have to be removed and o/hauled also the pump should be bench tested in case the pump relief system is not working causing to high line pressure which may be the cause of your problem.
