1993 Pontiac Grand Am Speedometer

I just bought this Grand Am GT and I come to find that my speedometer and my interior lights don't work. I don't know if the two problems are connected ( I doubt it ), but I don't know what to do to fix it?

Couple of possibilities for ya. First and for most, not to ask stupid question but have you made sure that the interior light isn't just burned out. Secondly when it comes to the speedometer it could very possibly be the speedometer cable has broken and that is why you are not getting any reading. Hope this helps and good luck.
