1991 Pontiac Grand Am Car cuts out while driving never know

My Pontiac Grand Am will run great then die while its going down the road, as if its out of gas, wont start. Then when I tow it home and let it sit a few days it will start back up. THis has happened several times, I changed the fuel filter so this isnt the problem. What do you think?

Check the crank postitin sensor and map sensor, you can also go through the basics for good measure, spark, fuel.
