The check engine light came on a couple of weeks ago and has been going off and on since. I first thougth it was bad gas so I put in a different brand and it went off for a few days and then back on. It seems to go away for awhile if I mess with teh gas cap and then comes back on a few days later. COuld it just be that I need a new gas cap?

Thanks,

Sometimes you can have a bad gas cap and replacing it will fix the problem. Before you spend your money on that though, the next time the light is on, go to a local parts store and let them check to see what kind of code shows up. It may be something else besides the gas cap.
