I have a GPS device on my car, just in case I fall behind on my car note they can deactivate my car. I fell behind 1 month and they shut down my vehicle. They sent a signal and the problem was corrected. Lately I've experienced this same problem, when I'm driving my car will stop accelarting and force me to pull over after a couple of minutes it won't move. I can change the gear to drive or reverse but it won't move. If I try to force the accleration it sounds like I'm going to blow my engine. It also smells like burning wire. I'll call the finance company and they'll send a signal. 15-20 mins later the problem is resolved and my car drives like normal again. I've had the dealer look at it and all is fine. The finance company thinks I'm crazy. Can this be something else?

THat is a good one. The concern I have is the smell you described. I'm not familiar with the device they placed on the car. Does it shut the engine down when activated?

Also, has the check engine light come on?
