I have a 2001 Trans am 5.7L V-8 with 34000 miles on it. My belt started squeaking last night. I bought some Prestone belt protectant, and it helped a little, but didn't stop the intermittent squealing. Should I change the belt, or just tighten it? Also, I couldn't find in the owner's manual how to tighten the belt if it needs it.

I figured out that it wasn't the belt, but it was the water pump that was failing because it actually siezed up on me. Now I need to figure out how to change it.
