what is the best price to pay to have the rear main seal replaced?? Im getting prices from $450 to $750, I know the transmission has to come out so most of the cost is labor, but the actual seal is under $30

You are correct. Most of the money is labor. How many hours labor are they charging you? It shouldn't be more than 4.
