1999 Pontiac Firebird blown oil filter gasket

1999 PONTIAC FIREBIRD

Every time I start my car it blows the oil filter gasket. The mechanic that says he has never seen this before says the oil pressure is too high (100 plus). What can I look for next?

Check the oil pump pressure relief valve
