Hi im back. Im the guy that had the fuel pump problems. Got that fixed then the egr went wrong. Fixed that then had to change spark plugs and ignition coils. Fixed that and my rod bearing went out with 214000 miles dead. Not bad for a 98 I guess. Well my question now of course is how hard would it be to swap the 3.8 f.I with a 350 chevy carburated motor. I now I would have to change front suspension and maybe fuel pump. Was thinking a turbo 400 tranny and welding new motot mounts. But how hard and what all would I need to do this swap. I go to school and our shop here doesnt charge labor to students so thats good. Thanks in advance.

I looked into this also and there are products already made that bolt in. This is a good source for K-member

If you do it your self, it will take some time to get everything lined up correctly. Not much room under the car. You will have to think about your rear axle and the pinion angle its at sitting stock. That Bird has a two piece drive shaft. Also your instrument panel will be another challenge unless you find a 4th gen V-8 at a wrecking yard that you can take what you need. On the other side though, If your making this a drag car, the skys the limit.
This is a good forum to look at also for info on engine swaps...

You will have to search around and see what other people have done.
Good luck.
