Engine Performance problem
1998 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 61,000 miles

Usually, when I'm at a stoplight my 98 firebird's battery gauge flickers back and forth (from all the way into the yellow/orange to normal) making it have a rough idle. If I rev it up alittle, the tac will stay at 2rpm and gradually go down back to normal idle, which isn't right-way too high.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Have the alternator tested. Chances are the voltage regulator is bad. Most parts stores will do it for free.
