Engine Cooling problem
1997 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 97 pontiac firebird V6 3.8 , it just overheats right after it warms up . The overflow tank has antifreeze in it but it doesn't go in the radiator. The upper hose gets very hot but i dont feel any fluid flow. The lower hose is cold as is the radiator. I have replaced the thermostat and filled the radiator. Watching the radiator with cap off fluid dosen't flow the level just rises and lowers like it wants to overflow but doesn't. Elec fan works fine.
I suspect the pump but maybe a clog somewhere. any ideas to start with
