way does a car smell like gas when you turn it off and I cant fine no leaks

I'd check the injectors and fuel pressure regulator for leaks. If there is a vacuum line connector to regulator, check the line for gas.You might also use a fuel pressure gage, see if the system will hold pressure.

Also check the charcoal canister could be saturated with fuel
