1996 Pontiac Firebird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I want to know how to remove the hub from the front of the crankshaft so that I can replace the front seal that is leaking.

after you disconnect the belt or belts, you have to take the bolts out that hold the pulley on which could be 3 or 4. then you need to pull the bolt out of the crankshaft. Then you need a puller to connect to the pulley bolt holes and pull the balancer off. Then you can get the seal out and reinstall the new one. thenreverse the procedure to put it all back to gether.

Actually it was three bolts and then use a puller to get the pulley off.Then you are left with a Hub assembly. To remove the hub assembly you use the harmonic balancer pulley with a 4" 3/8 bolt and the cupped attachment for the puller.then the hub will come off and you can replace the crankshft seal.
