My 95 Formula 1Trans Am runs great for 45min. Will smoke most cars, accelerates perfect. The car runs just like any trans am with an LT1 and mass air intake should, then dies after 45 min. When you let it sit for 5 min then start it back up you have to go strait home, acts like it is getting no fuel, runs great, then no fuel again.
Could it be the fuel pump getting hot and acting up, bad spark plug wire that acts up when hot?

Hi kevin12881,

Thank you for the donation.

I would rather think it is some thing electrical related than the fuel pump.
Plug wires would not act this way but a faulty ignition coil can.

Check
1. Fuel pump relay.
2. Fuel pump wiring sockets and connections.
3. Ignition switch and fuse connrections.

I have bought a new fuel pump relay, I thought it was located under the dash and above the foot rest. I cannot find it. I have been driving the car like this back and forth to work for a long time now, but will need it for a long trip in 2 weeks. Can you tell me where the relay is and how to get to it so I can drive for more than 45min, please do not tell me it is behind that metal plate I saw under the dash.

According to the wiring diagram, the FP relay is on the terminal block under the hood. The information is somewhat confusing. I hope this helps.

Hi kevin12881,

Managed to get a diagram of the location but it is almost like none, very vague.
Forward of left kick panel, on footrest bracket, under carpet, item # 3.
