1993 Pontiac Firebird V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 167500 miles

I am experiencing a problem periodically when driving on a highway at excellerated speed the car starts to putter out as if its not getting adequate gas. Then when I am stuck in traffic or at a traffic light in idle, the car starts to putter as if it wants to die and sometimes it has died on the freeway in a traffic jam, but starts again with no problem. Then when I do make my destination and park the car it starts revving up to 3 or 4 RPMS as if I am stepping on the gas pedal?

Cross these two terminals as shown, then turn the key on. Count the flashes, a 22 will flash as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes, if more than one code is stored, the pause will be longer. The codes will display three times and end with 12. Write them down and post here.

Reply to PM: If you are totally inexperinced this will be tough. We need the codes stored in the computer to proceed, so that's why I posted the picture, you will find this connector under the dash to the right of the steering colmn. Put a paper clip or small piece of wire in the two terminals as shown and count as instructed, write the codes down, then post the result here.
