hello I have a problem with my car it has a bad vibration to it. My bf thought it was the harmonic balancer so we out in a new one but now it wont go past first gear! What could be the problem?

Guesswork never fixes a problem. Hat's what's happened. It sounds as if your trans was in the process of going bad. Take it to a trans guy and have him talke a look at it.
