My firebird stalls everytime it reaches 2500 rpms. I have an amp hooked up to the battery. The mechanic I took my car to, said it was the computer board that was messed up because of the amp. He could not fix it not sure what to do.

Hi there, you best get the ECU tested & repaired if this is the case, then see an auto electrician and have the amp set up with circuit protection run it off a second battery that is charged via an isolator, this will give the best protection to the ECU, although I do feel that the amp may not be the root cause,
