just replaced clutch and when I come to a stop I have trouble putting it into first and second gear I have to turn off the car to get it into first gear

Were you able once installed to bleed the slave cyl? Sometimes these are hard to bleed all the air out. Some do not even have a bleeder on them you just have to tap the clutch pedal and watch for the bubles to come up thru the resevoir. Intersting please let me know. Curt

Sorry but the vehicle is an 87 pontiac transam and I did bleed the cyl but still having the same problem I did have my transmission rebuilt about six years ago. So wondering if it might be that again.
