1975 Pontiac Firebird engine knocks

i have a 1975 firebird just put new cam and lifters in it started knocking only when i put it in gear the knocking seems to stay the same even when i rev it up any ideas thanks

Is the sound coming from the top or bottom end of the engine? Did it make the noise before replacing the cam?
