1967 Pontiac Firebird oil pressure drop

My oil pessure drops to almost 0 when I mash the gas and rises to only 30psi when idle on my 427 big block and the oil pressure has dropped over all since I changed the oil out and put another 7 quarts but engine sounds fine What can be wrong? It used to get up to 70psi

Sounds like your oil pump is getting weak or ready to quit all together. First though before you go replacing it. Make sure your getting the correct reading. Maybe your gauge is wrong.
