Get a piece of chalk or white paint, mark the "O" degree notch and the "10" degree notch. Remove wheel and plastic liner for a better view.
Remove panel that houses cigarette lighter (they are torx screws). Behind panel is ALDL (Assembly Line Diagnostic Link), use a wire or paper clip (bent to a "U" shape), and connect terminals A and B. They are the only two pins side by side on the connector.
Start engine, SES light will flash every second, ECM is in "field service" mode (all computer advance is removed).
Connect timing light and point to marks, timing is 10 degrees BTDC.
If timing is off, then loosen dist. Hold down bolt (kinda hard to get to) and rotate counterclockwise to advance or clockwise to retard timing, until you get to the 10 degree mark. Shut off engine, remove jumper.
