Clicking noise turning right

Hello-

I have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3800 Series II with 89,000 miles. Recently, I was hearing a grinding/clicking noise everytime I made a right hand turn. I took it to a dealership where they replaced the left front axle shaft. $630 later, it is still making a clicking noise. They suggested it might be a transmission input bearing causing the clicking noise. However, they said it was still perfectly safe to drive. I've already had the transmission rebuilt a few months ago and they suggested I take it back to the shop that fixed it and see if it is covered under warranty. My question is, with the loud clicking noise it's making, is it really safe and reliable to drive? Also, what does it generally cost to replace an Input Bearing?

Thanks

I cant say that it is 100% safe to drive without hearing the noise. You have 2 shops pointing the finger now. First the dealer. They expect you to pay 630.00 for something that isnt fixed? And that price is ridiculous for one axle. Try taking it back to the trans shop and see what they think. If it is a trans problem it should be covered under their warranty. Not sure of th eprice for that, but like I said, it should be on them if it is a trans problem and not a wheel hub assembly
