The blower on my 1998 Bonneville has a mind of its own. It works intermittently. Once it comes on, it usually stays on until car is turned off. Sometimes if you hit a bump, it will come on. What should I check and where are they located?

Next time it happens, rap on the blower motor case or the passenger side dash several times, if it starts up, it's probably the blower motor itself.

I have a very similar problem with my 95 Grand Am, only worse. It rarely comes on, but sometimes it does when I hit a bump, but usually not. When it does come on it only works for 2-5 minutes then slowly dies off, but it does put out heat when it is working. Although I keep it at the highest position, it varies as to the volume that it blows, with little rhyme or reason. Hitting the dash has never helped...Do you think it is the blower motor or a fuse, or another problem?

Thanks!

Probably the blower motor itself.
