2003 Pontiac Bonneville Erratic heater/AC fan operation

2003 Pontiac Bonneville 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Has anyone had experience troubleshooting erratic operation of the heater/AC fan on a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville? The fan works when it wants. It may turn on immediately, many minutes after it has been selected or not at all. It is a problem for all functions (heat/AC and defrost). I suspect a short, but have been unable to find a bad connection. Help on diagnosing the problem is appreciated.

Inspect ground point G201 on right front door pilar if okay check and test the HVAC control module and the Blower motor control processor
