help, my bonneville ssei needs an ignition switch! It this the entire module? Should the work be performed by a mechanic. How much so you think this costs?

Do you mean where the key goes in, or the actual electrical switch? Regardless of which one, I have a concern with anyone working on or near the airbag. If you don't have experience with them, you should let a trained mechanic repair it. If you deploy the air bag by accident, it will cost a lot more to repair it than the switch.

As far as replacing it, I would estimate the cost to be around 150 to 200 dollars. Now keep in mind, I'm not sure where you live or the average hourly rate charged by the mechanics in your area, so my estimate may be off.
