A condition like this should definitely turn on the "Check Engine" light. Even if it isn't on, you should have your computer scanned. AutoZone will do this for free.

Whatever codes are pulled, write back to me and I'll try to help you from there.

It's kind of hard for me to understand what you're saying is happening. Is your oil pressure dropping first, then the engine shuts down? If so, then you have an internal engine issue, probably a worn oil pump or clogged oil pickup/screen.

Whenever you oil pressure drops, it will interrupt the circuit for your fuel pump and the engine will shut down.

If this isn't the case, write back and we'll go from there. But try to explain your problem in a bit more detail.

If I've helped you, please vote for me, as I depend on this to pay my bills. Thanx, Ernest.

I'm really surprised your check engine light doesn't come on. Hopefully there's codes in your computer. If not, It'll probably turn out to be an ignition related issue, as the computer can't always catch when a coil is burned out.

Get back with me after you have your computer scanned. I'm currently taking classes to updated my automotive repair knowledge and I can even speak with one of my instructors about your problem.
