1998 Pontiac Bonneville What damage can be caused by blown

My 1998 Bonneville had overheated on a 5 mile drive. I stopped and parked the car for 2-3 hrs.
When I returned and found no coolant in the radiator.
I added a gallon of collant and started the car. It ran badly then stalled. White smoke (steam) poored out both tail pipes.
I tried to restart the car and it would not turn over.
I left the car over night and returned and tried to starting it. It cranked but no spark and then there was a metallic clank under the hood and it would no longer turn over.
I think that the headgasket had blown.
Does any one have and idea of what other damaged this could have caused? or any idea of the expense to repair?

Sounds to me like a blown head gasket, and all that can be caused by lack of pressure, besides no spark that is probably caused from antifreeze on the electrical parts when the gasket blown.

what most likely happened is your intake plenom cracked. very common problem. its not the end of the world. your car wont crank over because its hydrolocked from the coolant going into the intake. you will probably need new intake plenom and gaskets. those engine are pretty bullet proof so its unlikely you did anymore damage. **its not impossible but unlikely you did anymore damage.
