Engine Cooling problem
1994 Pontiac Bonneville 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

fans don't go on until temp hits 225. Kick on slow until temp goes down to 215 or so. changed temp sensor in top of intake - problem is still there.

so what's the problem? the fans kicking on at 225 is ok. Your sensor is probably mounted at one of the hottest places on the car so if it shuts off at 215 that's ok. If your car is running hotter than normal then check yoru radiator. after the car is heated up shut it off and make sure th e fans don't start and run your hand on different areas of the radiator. If you feel a cold area, the rad needs replacing as it should be the same temp all accross.
