When I turn on my car heater, after it heats up I smell a burnt smell

Does your dash fog up? Do you see steam at all? You could have a heater core that is starting to leak. Feedback is greatly appreciated

No fog, no steam, judt burnt smell seems to be on the drivers side when I checked under the hood

Well if your valve cover gasket is leaking oil. It would drip on the exhaust and the fumes could be picked up from the heater intake. This is a hard one to diagnose without really seeing the car. Id look for signs of oil or antifreeze on the exhaust. If antifreeze is leaking it usually leaves a white trail from where it is leaking to the ground. Check that out. Check back with us.

Thank you for your advise mastertechtim, took car to my mechanic, along with a print out of your advice, he was so impressed with this new technolgy he is looking into getting a computer, he is about 70 yrs old.I did have oil on one part of the car, bad oil change, he cleaned it off, and advise me to use stop leak if I had a small leak somewhere, which I did no more burnt smell. You folks are fantastic, can I make a donation threw the mail.I am telling everyone I see about this web site, and thats alot of folks, being I work at a truck stop. Be safe and thanks for your help I appreciate it.
